Preparing for Battle (who really is The Timothy Group?)

Prepare for Battle

A few weary men gather around a fire warming their hands, one begins to massage his blistered skin ripped feet. He looks around, his colleagues were some of the best trained soldiers in the world. They had fought for many years and the victories far outweighed any defeats. They were proud to be the best. He would not dare venture to call any of them a coward. But here they had realized that not even the strongest amongst them was willing to take on this newfound foe. Their pride had gotten the best of them. Accept defeat? Give up without a fight? This was it, when faced with a giant, the strongest, fiercest, the meanest, looked away; would anyone take a stand? Their own willpower could not overcome the fear. But then, a boy, yes a boy, stepped up claiming he would take on this giant because his trust was not in himself, but in the almighty God. He would face this towering foe, he would not let others words mock him because he was simply a youth. Being a warrior for Christ knows no bounds. He answered only to the greatest, and so David stepped up to the plate, looked Goliath in the eyes, and said, “I’m a warrior for God the Almighty, bring it on.”

The fight against giants did not end in this battle. They come in all shapes and sizes, and they are backed with a great spiritual force, because we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and the overwhelming darkness of this world. Claiming the title as a warrior of Christ is scarce these days. Manhood has been demasculated within our society, much less Godly manhood. Godly and manhood? That’s a thing? Going to battle at 14 years old? Are you crazy? The battle against Satan and his fierce demons does not begin when a boy departs for college, or when he turns 18, or when he buys his own home. In Jewish culture, a boy became a man at the age of 13. If we do not equip our young men to be prepared for battle now, we, and I mean we, are setting them up for defeat in this world. The Timothy Group was founded to confront this Challenge. We train only the best to be warriors for Christ and not shy away in time of battle, but to be a leader, a servant, a young David who will not shy away from even the strongest foe.

The Timothy Group is a leadership school for young men, teaching practical applications with spiritual truths. We are a faith-based non-profit organization combining specific armed forces training with Biblical teaching to forge an elite warrior for Christ. The Timothy Group graduate values human life at home and abroad and is willing to be a living sacrifice so that others may live to know their Creator.

Who Do We Train? (Psalm 144:1)
Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.

We train men of all ages. We have events for ages ranging from 9-17 and 18 on up. We have worked with Boy Scout Troops, Police Departments, SWAT Teams, Church groups, Military Auxiliary Units, Small Business and many individuals.

Where Do We Train?

Our training location is headquartered in Columbus, Georgia. We have conducted classes in Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, and Ohio. Contact us to bring our training to you.

How Do We Train? (1 Timothy 4:12)

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

The Timothy Group uses physical activities to teach spiritual truths. We find that incorporating practical biblical training into physical scenarios, allows the student to remember the training. We equip young men to set that example spoken of in 1st Timothy.  We are enthusiastic about what we teach because we want our graduates to be able to confidently use their God ordained abilities.

Why Do We Train? (John 10:10)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

This is not a world for shallow Christians of soft character.

Our Commander-in-Chief, Jesus Christ, is looking for strong men, who are tested, toughened disciples ready to defend life and to live life to the fullest. Our purpose is to educate our young men in the truths found in God’s word. Through our training programs, competence and commitment are instilled.

We apply these truths both on a personal level and in the field. We operate globally by using the skills and character training we have instilled to confront our foe on the field. Our graduate conducts high risk mission trips in restricted nations, assists in delivering the Gospel to unreached people groups, provides actionable intelligence to the global Christian community, and provides strategic safeguards and tactical security for missionaries.  We do missions too hard to reach, high risk areas where few men go. Are you willing to answer the call? And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)

So what if you could combine mission field training, survival, tactical, SCUBA, medical, rappelling and ropes and many other practical skills of training all from a biblical viewpoint while equipping you to be a leader in this intense world?

Come prepared to be pushed and proven; to be mission-ready; to live and to display the redeeming love of Christ to those in need in this hard to reach world.
